Balls and Positions:
Keeper: Guards the goal posts.
Chasers (3): Score points with the Quaffle by tossing it into one hoop of the opposing team's three goal posts.
Beaters (2): Keep the Buldgers away from their team by hitting them toward the opposing team's players.
Seeker: Tries to catch the snitch to end the game.
Quaffle: The ball used to score points.
Buldger (2): Iron balls that have been bewitched to try and knock players off their brooms.
Golden Snitch: Tiny wallnut sized ball with wins that flys around the pitch until it is caught.
Rules:
The actual GAME will not take place in sub-boards but down in just the general pitch (you'll see a thread labeled: Game Gryffindor vs Slytherin -date-) so you know where to go.
Only team captains can call time out, I will choose each team's captain once all the positions are filled.
Penalties and fouls will be given out by a referee (a teacher who has asked to referee, if no teacher asks than it will also be the student commentator.
You are not allowed to grab someone else's broom.
Players may take their wands onto the pitch, but they must not be used on or against any players, any players' broomsticks, the referee, any of the four balls, or the spectators.
A game of Quidditch will only end once the Golden Snitch has been caught, or at the mutual consent of both team Captains.
To be allowed to catch the snitch, one team has to have reached at least 50 points before the seeker can "catch" the snitch. It does not have to be the seeker for the team with 50 points.
In order to catch the snitch the seeker must right an at least 4 sentence long explanation of how the catch the snitch. So saying: "He swooped down and caught the snitch ending the game." won't be counted but saying: "Suddenly Harry saw a flicker of gold zig-zag along behind Marcus Flint, the snitch. He quickly checked to see where the other seeker was before diving. His stomach lurched as he saw the snitch dart farther away, he leaned forward slowly and felt his fingers close around the wallnut-sized ball. Harry smiled and pulled himself to a halt before he rose his fist up in the air and pumped it, the stadium exploded." like that
Players must listen to the refree, you have three fouls before you are kicked off the pitch and anything you do will not count.
Being "kicked" off the pitch is also a warning. Do keep in mind that I will read through the games and fix/correct and punish if I must.
The commentator will have to be the one to sort out confusions, for example if two players seem to have the ball at the same time the game is stopped and the commentator has to figure out whoe rightfully has the ball by going through all the posts and deciding where the quaffle would end up (I'll explain this in more detail to the commentators.)
The points you recieve in each game (whether you win or lose) will be added to the house points.
To catch the snitch is 150 points for your team.
All other goals are 10 points.
The commentator keeps track of the score and after the game will give me the scores so I can update the winner's board and add house points.
Fouls:
Blagging: No player may seize any part of an opponent's broom to slow or hinder the player.
Blatching: No player may fly with the intent to collide.
Blurting: No player may lock broom handles with the intent to steer an opponent off course.
Bumphing: Beaters must not hit Bludgers towards spectators.
Cobbing: Players must not use their elbows against opponents.
Flacking: Keepers must not defend the posts from behind by punching Quaffles out of the hoops - goals must be defended from the front.
Haversacking: Chasers must not still be in contact with the
Quaffle as it passes through a hoop.
Quaffle-pocking: Chasers must not tamper with the Quaffle in any way.
Snitchnip: No player other than the Seeker may touch or catch the Golden Snitch.
Stooging: No more than one Chaser is allowed in the scoring area at any one time
These are the rules until I find some reason or another to add/fix them. They are to be followed.
