"Alex!" My friend, Hermione, yells at me, taking an headphone out of my ear. I was listening to some of my favorite bands, Hollywood Undead, Carrie Underwood(well she was technically a singer but oh well), Bryan Adams, ect.
"What?" I whine, turning off my iPod. She eyes me warily, "Alex. Don't tell me you have forgotten already!"
"Forgotten what?!" I really didn't remember. Truth is, Hermione tells me a lot of things, hard to remember all of them...
Hermione rolls her eyes, " Why, the second task is starting soon!"
"Ohmygosh!" I scream, jumping up from my bed. "I completely forgot."
Hermione laughs, "Apparently." I crack up too. Hermione gives me a what-would-you-do-without-me? look. I shrug.
A girl clears her throat, and we both turn to see Morgan Gildheart, another Gryffindor 4th year standing there. Her hazel eyes were staring at Hermione, and says, "Hermione, someone is looking for you. They told me to tell you to meet them in the library real quick. They want to talk to you about the second task."
"Oh." Hermione gets up and shoots me an apologetic look. She scampers off toward the library, or otherwise known as her favorite place at Hogwarts-maybe even on earth. Morgan smiles at me, "Hey Alex, wanna walk to the second task together? The person who wanted to see Hermione says that Hermione will be there later to join us."
"Sure." I had no one else to go with. Morgan wasn't that bad either. There was just one thing that bugged me, "Morgan, do you know specifically who is looking for Hermione?"
Morgan shrugs, as if she was expecting this question, "Someone who works at the ministry I forgot his name."
"Okay..." I reply, and we start to walk.
~*~
"The second task begins...now!" And then I heard a gun being fired in the air. I watched as the competitors jumped in. The last one in was Harry Potter.
I watched as Harry finally was able to swallow his gillyweed and jump in. I prayed he would be okay, people can die in the Tri-wizard Tournament.
Plus, Harry was my crush, and my best friend. Yes, like Cho had fallen for Cederic, I had fallen for Harry. How could I not? He had the messy black hair that could never lay flat, and the most gorgeous green eyes that I have ever seen, it was a shame he had to wear glasses. But, glasses never looked so good on someone.
Only Cho, was Harry's crush. How could I compete with her? Luckily, she was Cederic's girlfriend, so she was off limits. If only Harry knew this. He did know that Cho liked Cederic and Harry, but her already being Cederic's girlfriend, he did not know. And, Harry was planning on asking Cho to the Yule Ball, not that he knew that I knew this. I overheard him and Ron talking, saying that they were going to get dates by the end of the week, and who they were planning on asking.
Poor Ron, who was going to ask Hermione, she already was going with Viktor Krum. It made me laugh to think about it. What was he gonna do when she said she was already going with someone? Who else was there to ask...
Me. But I would say no too. Only Hermione knew about my crush on Harry. Speaking of Hermione, where the heck was she?! I glance at Morgan, "What do you think is taking her so long?" I ask, Morgan sighs, "I have no clue." She replies.
I look at the clock, the second task was almost half-way over. Hermione had to be on her way back soon right? I watch as the clock said that the second task was half over. This was unlike Hermione to be late.
I take a deep breath and tell myself that Hermione was okay, she was a smart girl, and could take care of herself.
I watched in anticipation as the task wore on.
"Fleur Delacour will be retiring, due to an attack from Grindylows."'
As sad as I was of Fleur being attacked, I was happy it wasn't Harry. Fleur was ushered back onto land, and given a towel. She sighed, and almost looked like she was going to cry, " 'Who iz going to zave my sister?" she demanded to no one in particular.
I felt terrible about what I had thought a second ago, her sister could die!
The champions slowly came back, Cederic of course saved Cho. Viktor saved...Hermione?!
"Hermione!" I hug my dripping wet friend, and hand her a towel. She smiles, "It is good to know I was missed." The clock soon said that the second task as over. And Harry still wasn't back!
Suddenly, there Harry was, he had not saved one person, but two!
There both dripping wet next to harry, was my friend Ron Weasley, and Gabrielle Delacour.
I felt a twinge of jealousy at the thought of Harry carrying Gabrielle Delacour, who was looking at Harry flirtatiously. Okay, first of all she was like seven, and second of all Harry wasn't even paying attention to her. Her was staring at you guessed it, Cho.
"You are staring at her again, "I say to Harry, annoyed.
"Oh.." He mumbles.
"What is so special about her?!" I demand fighting back tears that I had been holding in since I found out her liked her.
Harry looks at me a moment, "Er..."
"That's what I thought!"I yell and stalk off to the Gryffindor Common Room.
~*~ A Few Days Later
"Are you okay?" Ginny comes and sits next to me. I had my headphones in my ears, but I wasn't actually listening to anything. Apparently Ginny could tell.
I sigh, "Nope. Harry and I haven't spoken since...well you know." I say, my eyes were threatening tears again. Who knew that a guy could affect a girl this much? I always said I wouldn't be the girl to cry over a guy, but I guess I was wrong.
"I talked to him." Ginny says, looking proud of herself. I laugh Ginny was a true friend. She had an ability to make me smile in my darkest moments.
I took out my headphones, and stood up straighter, "what did he say? What did you tell him?!"
Ginny sighs, "I said that you were upset because Cho was going out with Cederic, but yet he was planning on asking her out. And that you didn't want him to get hurt by her saying she was going with Cedric."
"Oh..." I heave a sigh of relief she didn't tell him I liked him.
"Hey, Harry told me he was looking for you. He wants to talk to you!" Ginny says, unable to hold a smile.
"Really?!" I giggle and look around. Luckily, we were the only ones in The Girls Dorms.
"Yeah!" Ginny giggles too, "He is outside in the Gryffindor Common Room right now as we speak."
"Wait..." I crinkle my eyebrows in confusion. "Did he ask out Cho?"
Ginny looks at the floor, not saying anything. "Ginny, please tell me. Please." I say. "I have to know. It is imperative."
Sighing, Ginny nodded, "Yeah. He did. And she told him that she was going with Cederic. Harry was heartbroken. Plus, he didn't have you to talk to since you...well...blew up in his face...And then I talked to him and told him you blew up, and he kind of understood I guess. He wonders how he didn't know that they were a couple. Like the whole school knew. Everyone except him." Ginny explained this in one quick breath.
"Oh, okay. So he isn't like mad at me or anything is he?"
Ginny burst out laughing at my foolishness, "Of course not! He thinks you are mad at him. That's why he wants to talk to you."
I felt stupid to say the least. Stupid, but relieved. He didn't hate me! Yippee!!!
I jumped up and hugged Ginny, "I love you!" I joke, and she pulled away, "I uh hope not!" She responds, even though she knew I was only joking around with her.
I rush out of the Girls Dorm and viola, Harry was there. No one else. Everyone else was eating dinner in the Great Hall.
"Thanks for helping me with that one problem!" Ginny announces loudly, giving me a play along with it look. I caught it quickly, " Yeah, come and talk to me next time you have any questions on your Defense against the dark arts homework. " I smile and Ginny exits, leaving Harry and I alone.
"You first." We both said at the exact same time, then we laughed. Harry's laugh never seemed more happy then it did then.
"er-ladies first." Harry replies, motioning me to talk. I blush slightly.
"Harry, you know how umm..upset I was? Asking what was so special about her? Well...I was jealous that you liked her..." I say, staring at the floor.
I hear Harry sigh, " Cho...is an amazing girl, but I was more hurt by you than her when she said she was going to the ball with Cederic...her er...boyfriend. I was hurt by you ignoring me."
"I was ignoring you?! I thought you were mad and hated me for it." I say, and looked at Harry, and he looked like he was gonna laugh.
And he did, laugh. I was unable to suppress some giggles, but then I thought about what he said. About me hurting him more than Cho...how was that possible..unless....
" I always really liked you. But I thought you just liked me as a best friend, not like like me. That's why I didn't ask you to the ball, I didn't want to ruin our friendship. " Harry replies after he got all the laughing out.
"But I did like like you. I thought that you liked Cho, not me." I was now kind of confused.
"Er. I liked Cho. I thought I liked her more, but I don't I realized just how important you were to me, after seeing how upset you were, and then you ignored me. So I thought you hated me, and then I asked Cho to the ball. Then Ginny comes up and tells me why you were so mad..."
I couldn't help but giggle again. It was a lot of drama for one week.
Once I stop laughing, Harry leans in and kisses me. I kiss him back with as much love as I could muster.
"Alexandria Winchester, will you go to the Yule Ball with me?" Harry asks.
"Hmmm...Lemme think!" I kiss him, and then reply, "Yes!"
"What?" I whine, turning off my iPod. She eyes me warily, "Alex. Don't tell me you have forgotten already!"
"Forgotten what?!" I really didn't remember. Truth is, Hermione tells me a lot of things, hard to remember all of them...
